Finally, some good news....

The lab FINALLY called us back! Though we only have 2 embryos, they look really good! (they scared us for nothing! The fact that we have only two stinks, but 1 is all it takes, right?!)

not the best news...

They were unable to do a fresh transfer. I understand the reasons, and it's for my own health benefit, it just sucks.
Anyway, I don't think they wanted to give us too much sucky information in one day, so we have to wait until today (Monday) to hear the quality of the embryos. From the way they are talking, it doesn't look good. All they told us was 'poor egg quality' and 'not much to work with'.
Hopefully we'll get all the answers later today. Just wanted to let you know what we're up to.

Updates...

We have continued on with appointments as scheduled. Our egg retrieval went well. They were able to retrieve 23 eggs. Of which, 20 were mature. Out of those 20, they were able to fertilize 14! So we have 14 embryos as of now. (Last time, half of the embryos continued to develop) We are not sure how many, out of those 14, that will continue to develop. Once they fertilize, the lab leaves things alone, as not to disturb anything. We will find out more on the quality of the embryos on Sunday.
Which brings me to Sunday.... We have a doctors appointment in the afternoon. This will determine if the doctor will put a fresh embryo back in me, or if we have to freeze all the embryos. Reason being, is my ovaries are HUGE :-) He wants to minimize the risk of hyper stimulation.
Confused? Well, there will be more concrete information tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Love you all...

Nearing the End

So far, so good. We went to the doctor today, who states we are still on the right track. We are nearing the end of the stimulation and have an appointment on Tuesday afternoon for the egg retrieval. Tuesday they will extract all of the follicles from my ovaries. Many, and hopefully most, of these follicles contain a healthy mature egg. The mature eggs will then be fertilized and hopefully most will survive fertilization. If all looks well, we may be able to do a fresh transfer of one of the embryos this cycle (they were originally planning on freezing all of them). So that's great news!
We should know on Tuesday the number of follicles and eggs they were able to retrieve. Then a couple days later we should be told how many of those mature eggs were able to be fertilized.
We are in the home stretch!

on the right track

Everything is going as planned so far. We are about half way through the meds and still no crazies yet :-) Doctor said not to worry, they'll be here soon enough.

Here we go again....

We started new injectable meds last night. These meds stimulate the ovaries to produce MANY follicles (which turn into eggs). This stimulation will be for the next week or so.
AKA.. CrAzY drugs are back!
We'll keep you posted.
